Well... um... that's it really. Just the fact that I posted should be enough! |

Hi all,
Wow, this is my second LJ post in just under two months, does that make me an LJ regular?Current Mood: chipper Current Music: None, listening to the golf on TV

I'm not losing my hair at all, it's merely a weak impression of Buck Rogers space helmet (and that will be the last remark about helmets). |

Hi all,
I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd give it a go. So... erm, what's happening with me then... uurrrm, not much. Hmmm, this isn't easy, no wonder everybody types wangst. I Know, I'll use basic sections that should work, even I can follow that idea.
1. Work
Works going OK, I wouldn't say it was going any better than that, but lets be honest about it, it's not a difficult job and the pays reasonable. Because of those two facts I can put up with the things that annoy me, although I am whinging more and I don't like doing it. Maybe a few days off would help, I'll have to think about it.
2. Home
This section really comes down to photography, it seems to be a major part of my thought process when I'm not working (and sometimes when I am). Actually the only way photography could improve at the moment is if I was to sell some pictures. Bearing in mind that I haven't tried to sell any pictures, that's not a bad statement. Regarding the actual taking of pictures, it appears that almost everything I try at the moment is working. My knowledge of photoshop is growing rapidly, and I've just started teaching myself to use Dreamweaver with the help of a book that I'm sure has some pages missing. My intention is to create my own website to help display and advertise my pics, a portfolio as it were.
SUDDEN BRAIN ATTACK: I want to try taking some portrait shots of people, mainly face and shoulder shots. I've never tried it but have seen some amazing pics that have inspired me. The only problem is, I have no idea who to shoot (don't worry, I mean 'to take pictures of'). So calling all people who love themselves... hmmm, maybe that's not the best way to advertise. OK, calling all people who have always fancied having pictures taken of them, but have always been a bit shy... yeah, that worked better.
So that's a brief overview of what's going on in my head (I did say it was brief), I still haven't got the hang of this LJ stuff yet so I think this is pretty revolutionary for me. Now, all I need is something to make people read it, well that bit's obvious, WANGST!Current Mood: good Current Music: Computer fan hum

What does your average person do with a Tuesday away from work... that's right, they do some housework! It's a good job I'm below average, I decided that Tuesday is duck day. Next time you have a day off and you don't fancy doing those jobs that you know need doing, grab your camera and a lense that makes the hubble telescope look small, head on down to the river and take pictures of ducks. All I need to do now is figure out a way of marketing the idea and I'm rich I tells ye.Current Mood: indescribable Current Music: Computer fan hum

I can't believe it, today I got told off for not using my LJ! The last time I used it nobody bloody replied! So I have decided to join the LJ club properly and only post unhappy thoughts.
WANGST!

| » More Photomagraphs |
I have a added a few more pictures to flickr.com, I would add them to my LJ but I appear to have lost that ability. Please have a look at them, you can find my pics by using the tag 'mobester_32'.
If anybody has any idea why the image link doesn't work anymore, that would be a big help.

| » Wootage that looks a bit odd! |
I know I haven't posted in a while, it's that whole feeling a bit down and not wanting to moan out loud thing.
On a much brighter tone, I have a new lense and it's cool. I've bought myself a 10.5mm Fisheye lense. I am now able to take those weird, isn't your nose big, pictures. I'll post a couple after I have taken them (it makes sense to work in that order) and then you can all say things like, 'Oooh, it's one of those weird lenses'.
So far, I've only taken a picture of the strange person who sits beside me at work. Trust me, if you see the picture, she looks strange.

| » I planed to take some new pics, but... |
I planned to take some new pics, but any that I took were rubbish. For that simple fact, I decided to dig a couple from the archive.
The first one is one of my favourite cemetary pics. It was taken using my F80 (film camera), hence the little squiggly lines here and there (bad development). I'm not sure what it is about crosses, I could take pictures of them all day and yet I'm not at all religious. I think it must be the simplicity, or starkness of the subject.
Let me know what you think.

This next image was taken on a day out at Colchester Zoo. It was one of those days where you devote your day to family. In my case, nephews and neice. I wouldn't normally show this kind of picture to people I know, but it's one of those dual purpose shots.
1. It's not a bad photo, everything is in focus and there are some great textures. 2. He's eating shit.
Once again, feedback would be nice.

| » I'm awake |
Well, it's about 2am and I'm wide awake, what do I do?
After much deliberation I decided it was time to try a self portrait and here it is.
It's not very flattering, but how many honest self portaits are.

| » A couple of my favourite pics |
Here are a couple of my favourite pictures that I have taken.
This first one was taken after work on a very foggy night before Christmas. It's the road between the Fitzwilliam Museum and Lion Yard Car Park.
This second one was taken at Duxford at the end of Summer. I tried to copy a red filter on B&W film using digital techniques. I think it worked.
Let me know what you think.
p.s. I don't do weddings!

| » I was feeling really glum and tired... |
I was feeling really glum and tired, but I've been chatting and now I have my second wind. Always a bonus when you're working the late shift.
I've just been told of a way to post my pictures without having to pay loads of money. It's something I must look into doing, then I can show off my photomatography and get a huge response from both of you (I may need to work on getting more friends). I'll have to try this at the weekend. If I can suss it out, you will have gazillions of pics to peruse (maybe about four, but gazillions sounds much more dramatic).

| » New lense |
WOOT!
I've got a new lense, it's a Sigma 105mm EX DG Macro. To all of you normal people (all! as I write this I only have 2 friends on my list) thats one of those close up, high detail type things.
*remembers, must add happy pic to journal*
